Nouilles Zhonghua is a compact, bustling noodle restaurant tucked into Montreal’s Sherbrooke Street West, specializing in Lanzhou-style Chinese noodles and a range of savory Asian dishes. The space is small and well-used, which means it tends to fill up quickly during typical meal hours. If you're aiming to avoid the crowds, early lunches or dinners are your best bet.

The atmosphere feels cozy and no-frills, emphasizing the food more than the decor. The restaurant’s style suits those who don’t mind sharing tables or waiting briefly, as seating can be tight and communal, especially for smaller parties. There’s some efficiency in how the staff manage orders by taking them while customers wait, which helps move guests through at a steady pace.

Nouilles Zhonghua shines with dishes like their special Lanzhou beef noodles and the spicy beef shank, both carrying that authentic, hearty flavor typical of northern Chinese noodle kitchens. Vegetarians will find options too, such as the vegetable noodles and vegetarian noodle soup, balancing the otherwise meat-heavy menu. The side offerings, including marinated cucumbers and spicy tofu, add a nice refreshing or spicy counterpoint to the main bowls.

The portions are generous and satisfying, making it a dependable spot for a filling meal without fuss. Customers looking for a quick, flavorful fix of homemade noodle soups or cold noodles with tender chicken strips will feel right at home here. The place also caters well to delivery orders, which is a handy option given the limited seating.

Given Nouilles Zhonghua’s authenticity and steady popularity among locals and visitors who appreciate Lanzhou-style noodles, it is best suited for those who enjoy straightforward, deeply flavored noodle dishes in a lively, informal setting. If you’re visiting, expect a modest dining area, friendly service, and a menu that’s focused on bold, comforting Asian noodle specialties.

Charming little noodle place. Really compact inside. Great little spot if you like Langzou style noodles! I recommend it! This place seems pretty popular and crowded at meal times. There was even a long lineup for this place. So I recommend going a little early before lunch or supper time because otherwise, youre gonna wait in a lineup.

These noodles are amazing! Things to know: it’s cramped and busy. Often to keep things moving, the staff will take your order while you’re waiting for a table. Unless you’re a party of 4 or more, you will share a table. They were frustratingly sold out of things at 6:30 PM in the middle of the week including the Xijian chicken noodles and cucumbers. But the oil spill noodles were SO flavorful and so chewy I wasn’t even mad about it. Earlier is better! We waited less than 10 min for a table but there was a long line by the time we left! We visited during lunchtime, and it was pretty busy, so we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. Luckily, you can place your order while waiting, which was convenient because you barely wait once you sit down. We got the large Special Lanzhou beef noodle combo (19.58 CAD), and even though we were super hungry, it was more than enough to fill us up. The flavors were great, and we really appreciate everything being homemade. Will come back for sure!

Terrific experience! Went here with my wife while in Montreal. The server was super helpful in guiding us to the right ramen, and it felt really authentic and flavorful. Cozy spot and definitely worth a visit.

Restaurant was quite small. There was a bit of lineup, which didn’t bother much. The texture of the noodles and meat were great, very fresh. However I find the broth too much on the salty side. But that’s just my opinion. Overall it was ok.

The service was good. The cold noodles were amazing. I will definitely be going back to try the ones with soup as well. Their drink was good as well. The only downside it's small and busy, so it's very tight.

Been wanting to try for a while but opening hours always made it difficult. It’s a really small place with just a few spots available to sit, I wouldn’t go in a group bigger than 4 and if you’re less than that you might have to share a table with strangers, there will be a wait to get seated most probably. Food was great, noodles are freshly made, tried the homemade pork sauce noodles and was really nice, big portion of noodles and fresh vegetables, price also great. Staff was very friendly. Only downside is the size of the place that can feel a bit cramped.
